New Music: Christina Grimmie - "Must Be Love" [Premiere / Review]
What a fantastic new single Christina Grimmie’s just released! The former YouTuber star and “The Voice” contestant, and now Island Records signee unleashes today, July 31, on iTunes her brand new single "Must Be Love". After getting evicted from the “The Voice” last year finalising at 3rd place, Christina was tempted to sign to Adam Levine’s 222 Records and Lil' Wayne's Young Money, but ultimately the 20-year-old New Jersey singer opted to say 'yes' to the proposal of Island Records. Christina's currently working on her second studio album (although first under a major label) which is expected to come out before is 2014 is over.
"Must Be Love" single review
The first single from Christina’s forthcoming album is the song "Must Be Love" and it’s just an amazing surprise! The song is upbeat pop-folk. I think the best way to describe "Must Be Love" is that it sounds like a more commercial sound to KT Tunstall circa "Black Horse and the Cherry Tree”. It’s so captivating, energetic, well-sung and I bet this will totally sound amazing in live performances. The lyrics on "Must Be Love" talk about love at first sight and recognizing it is love by the ‘feelings’ you are experiencing. “It must be love / It's in my heart, it's in my body”, sings Ms. Grimmie in the chorus.
