Ready to have your teen bubblegum pop dose of the day? Listen now Bella Thorne's sugary debut single 'Call It Whatever'. The drum-heavy pop song is the first single from the Shake It Up star's forthcoming first solo album to be released later in 2014 via Hollywood Records. 'Call It Whatever' was schedule to premiere via an exclusive first play on Disney Radio this Friday, but the song leaked online three days earlier, today May 13th.
The first two thing we thought after hearing 'Call It Whatever' were; 'too Disney-ish' and 'too childish'. Then, we remembered Bella is signed to Hollywood Records which is a Disney-owned label, and that Bella is 16 years old. 'Call It Whatever' is too bubblegum, but it's age and sound appropriate we guess!
The song is pretty must 'instant' on the ear. So you will either love it or hate it after your first play. We are on the 'love' side, but... we've heard so many Hollywood Records/Disney kids release songs like 'Call It Whatever' and go unnoticed. So why would Bella be an exception? *sigh*. We are definitely bopping to 'Call It Whatever', and we hope Disney have major promotion lined-up for Bella, otherwise the single will die before launch.
