New Music: Austin Mahone - 'Next To You'
Austin Mahone is bringing N*Sync back. MTV.com exclusive premiered a new track from the Texas singer's forthcoming 'The Secret' EP, called 'Next To You' and let's just say the RedOne-produced track bears a lot of similarities to the kind of music the Justin Timberlake-led boyband used to record back in the day. RedOne produced four tracks of the six on 'The Secret', so expect to hear a lot more of N*Sync-esque music when you buy and play Austin's new EP. RedOne also produced the dance-pop 'What About Love' - one of Austin's biggest hits to date - and this also is very similar to 'Next To You'. In the end, it's all got the RedOne 'mark', huh? We wonder if it was Austin's label's decision to give him this kind of sound... or if RedOne thought this was the most appropriate for Austin and Republic Records simply agreed?.
We do like the N*Sync throwback, anyway. You may think Austin's songs should sound dated and dull cause of this, but they are actually kind of refreshing. For no one is doing this kind of throwback pop music at the moment.
