Melanie Amaro - 'Don't Fail Me Now' (Video)

Now that L.A Reid has finished his taping days of this season's 'The X Factor USA' (to move on to the live shows in the next weeks) he finally found the time to promote Season 1's winner Melanie Amaro who got the 5 million dollar prize and L.A signed to his Epic Records label, and with this I say he's finally given the green light to VEVO debut the music video for the early August-premiered single "Don't Fail Me Now", the lead single from Melanie's upcoming yet-untitled debut album, hopefully arriving later in 2012!

I personally liked the Darkchild-produced dance-ballad when it first premiered and have been consistently playing it from time to time on my iPod Touch but the question always was...does this song feel '5 million dollars'?...obviously not. I think L.A Reid and Darkchild could've come up with something more 'edgy' and radio-instant for Melanie...so If I don't hear better material in her album it will all point out L.A is scamming Melanie and openly robbing her prize money. Having said that, for the sake of Melanie's carreer (I truly like the girl, she has talent!) I hope 'Don't Fail Me Now' becomes a later-bloomer for her. If this keeps 'flopping' on the charts, and radio airplay, and L.A doesn't come up with an 'in the money' second single right away, things will turn ugly for Melanie. In any case, let's hope and wait for the best!

Back to the 'Don't Fail Me Now' video which has recently premiered, I too get the 'this is not 5 million dollars worthy' feeling but it's a nice visual. Very Madonna 'Don't Tell Me' at some moments, but Melanie looked great throughout the whole of it. The bridge of the song still gives me goosebumps!

What do you think of the video?
