Mary J Blige - Someone To Love Me (Music Video!)

The Queen of Hip-Hop and R&B Mary J Blige has recently premiered the music video for her Diddy and Lil' Wayne-assisted new single "Someone To Love Me (Naked)" - The HOT 70's insipired record will serve as the official lead single from Mary's upcoming 10th studio album "My Life II: The Journey Continues", due out on September 20th. The The Sweet Inspirations's "You Roam When You Don't Get It At Home" sample simply SLAYS. Kudoz to producer Jerry "Wonder" Duplessi for recuperating this one for us.

Well, as you all already know "Someone To Love Me" isn't exactly a 'new' song. It was originally included on Diddy's latest album "Last Train To Paris", the song revolved around Diddy's rapping while Dirty Money's Kalenna and Dawn took over the chorus. Seems Mary J. Blige loved the record and decided to do her own version. Things were done pretty 'official' as Blige even got Lil' Wayne to add a verse for her remix, while Diddy mantained some of his parts. This remix premiered in January this year and shortly after it was announced that it would become Mary's lead single from her upcoming album.

For me, it's like this song was meant for Mary. Her voice absolutely fits, and it just feels natural. Now, lead single of a new album? A song whose production remains the same and Diddy already released as a single? Not convinced about it. Mary should have released something original in my opinion. Her remix is hot, but I'm not getting any new album anticipation hype from it.

The "Someone To Love Me (Naked)" Mary J. Blige version music video premiered today (April 4th) via VEVO. The clip was directed by Colin Tilley and it features scenes like Mary singing on a broken bridge while Diddy wanders through a never-ending corridor and Wayne walks a futuristic set.
