Marina and the Diamonds - "Froot" [Album Lyrics]
The “Froot” has fallen off the tree.
Despite the tragic news of her new album leaking today, two months before the scheduled world release date, Marina and the Diamonds is still planning to drop her third studio album “Froot” on April 6th in the USA. Atlantic Records is keeping that date on all the digital music stores that will be selling “Froot”.
This is a terrible and inexplicable move if you ask me. I’d do what Bjork recently did (the Iceland princess got her new album “Vulnicura” leaked well in advanced too); release the album ASAP!
“Froot” is Welsh singer-songwriter Marina and the Diamonds’ first album since 2012’s “Electra Heart” which was described by many as Marina’s ultimate career mistake. She foolishly agreed to do what her US label had masterminded; taking her to a global, mainstream scale by making Marina record a pop album with productions from Benny Blanco, Dr. Luke, Stargate, among others. So not the real Marina and the Diamonds. “Electra Heart” was a commercial disappointment and it evidently made things clear once again for her and her label; to stick to the ‘indie’ sound.
“Froot” is just that. Marina going back to her true essence, writing all of the songs on an album, and going back to the top of the charts (all of the ‘promo’ singles released thus far have reached the Top 10 on iTunes USA). Sucks that it leaked so early, though. Regardless, I’m positive fans and the general public will support the legal “Froot” in its due time.
