Are my eyes deceiving me? Is that Marina and the Diamonds promoting “Froot” on television?

Oh my, it is true! The talented Welsh singer was on “Good Morning America” on ABC today (March 25) to plug last week’s “abrupt” US release of her third album “Froot” (it was pushed up one month after it leaked on the Internet) and perform the confirmed new single “Forget”. Watch Ms. Diamandis in action below!

The “five hits” interview and the dead silence

Before praising Marina and the Diamonds’ "Forget” performance it is imperative we speak of that pre-performance interview with the GMA host and the awkward silence there was before Marina sang the opening line of her new "Froot" single.

What the hell? That host had his info wrong. He said Marina had five "hits" before the release of "Froot". What he meant was that Marina had released five buzz singles to hype the release of the album, but they weren't proper hits (although I have love for all of them). I wonder why Marina didn't correct him? Maybe she liked the praise? lol.

Then, there was the awkward 10-second silence that preceded the “Forget” performance. The GMA camera was focusing on Marina and her band, the music should've started playing right away, but some reason I think it was the drummer's fault who apparently missed his cue and caused a very awkward situation. Even Marina had to look back to see what was going on.

The vocal slayage

Not much to say about this. Marina slaaaaayed them vocals!!!

* Hopefully this first televised performance of the “Froot” era will help the album’s second week sales because the first week sales are already closed. "Froot" sold almost 40,000 units in the US and it debuted at #4. Not so bad considering the 0 promo it had.

Thoughts?
