Mac Miller’s Family Announces Benefit Concert, Will Ariana Grande Be There?
The family of the late Mac Miller has announced a benefit concert - titled "Mac Miller: A Celebration of Life" - to support the newly created Mac Miller Circles Fund (which will provide programming, resources, and opportunities to youth from underserved communities, helping them recognize their full potential through exploration in the arts and community building). The concert will take place a the Greek Theater in Los Angeles on October 31 and it will feature performances from Action Bronson, Anderson .Paak, Chance the Rapper, Dylan Reynolds, Domo Genesis, Earl Sweatshirt, J.I.D, John Mayer, Miguel, Njomza, ScHoolboy Q, SZA, Thundercat, Travis Scott, Ty Dolla $ign, Vince Staples and more. Will “more” include Ariana Grande as a surprise performer? That is a mystery but I’m really hoping she can make it. Although, it’s Mac’s family the one that is approving the list of performers and perhaps Ariana is not very welcomed? I don’t know, I’m just thinking out loud. What do you think?
Tickets for the "Mac Miller: A Celebration of Life" concert will go on sale this Friday, October 5, on Ticketmaster.com. If you can’t attend the event but would like to support Mac Miller’s fund any way, please click here to make a donation.
Karen Meyers (Mac Miller's mother) said the following in a statement:
"The support we've experienced is evident in this amazing line-up and is a testament to Malcolm's incredible life," said Karen Meyers. "His Father, brother and I are beyond thankful to everyone who is working to make this concert happen along with every fan and every friend for continuing to support Malcolm and his vision. He was a caring, loving human with a smile that could light up the sky and a soul that was out to make the world a kinder place and the MMCF will continue to do just that. He was pure artistry -- constantly creating, seeking, and discovering new ways to be both a source of inspiration and catalyst for new artists. We were fortunate, not only to work with Malcolm and watch his music evolve, but to witness his own personal evolution that included a strong focus on building bridges and opening doors for anyone and everyone he encountered. We hope his ambitions to bring people together and to create new opportunities will continue to live through the MMCF. We know Malcolm would be appreciative and proud of the thought and care that is going into making the MMCF a reality, so thank you to all who are selflessly helping this come to life."
I swear to God if Ariana does make an appearance in the end and performs the song below, I would just burst in tears!
