A new version of Sam Smith's "Lay Me Down" song has been recorded and do you know with whom? None other than "All of Me" star John Legend! The two recently got together in the studio to re-record the “In the Lonely Hour” album cut to make it a duet song and be used as the official Red Nose Day 2015 single, also known as the Comic Relief single for 2015 (both titles are fine, so don’t get confused), in the UK. Comic Relief is a “major charity” that spends the money raised “to tackle the root causes of poverty and social injustice in the UK and across the world”.

"Lay Me Down" is Sam's current new international single, it is performing rather well in the US by the way, so I guess it wasn't a very hard song choice when Comic Relief asked him to be artist of the official Red Nose Day 2015 single. What better song to give them than the single he’s currently promoting, right? In my opinion, it should’ve been an original song, but whatever. This action will definitely make "Lay Me Down" to rocket to #1 in the UK.

"Lay Me Down" already was a perfect song in its original studio version but this John Legend "remix" is very nice as well. I do think the song requires the super crystal-clear, angelic vocals of Sam to work 100% amazing, though.

On the same day the new duet version of "Lay Me Down" was premiered (March 9), a "music video" was unveiled. It shows footage from the Comic Relief activities in Africa and footage of Sam and John recording their duet in the studio.
