Lily Allen officially announced yesterday that her much-anticipated fourth studio album “No Shame” would be released on June 8th in stores. We’ve already heard the first single from the album, the Giggs-assisted “Trigger Bang”, but yesterday to celebrate the official launch of the “No Shame” album pre-order on iTunes, Lily released two countdown singles: “Higher” and “Three”. You can go ahead and download these two new songs immediately at no extra charge if you pre-order the British songstress’ new album right now, stream them on Apple Music or Spotify, or just listen to them by clicking on the VEVO videos below. It’s up to you to decide your form of supporting Ms. Lily Allen!
STREAM - HIGHER
STREAM - THREE
Both “Higher” and “Three” are slow songs. “Higher” hears Lily Allen being angry at somebody who seemingly did her wrong (“You know what you're doing / I won't listen to another excuse / This time you blew it”), and “Three” is a more personal song where Lily seemingly sings from the point of view of her youngest daughter and she touches the subject of the feeling of abandonment her child has to suffer every time her mom has to leave home for a long period of time because of promotion or touring. I personally found this last song to be most interesting one of the two. I've never heard anything like this before. I thought the lyrics and the idea behind "Three" were brilliant.
