New Song: Lady Gaga - 'Applause' [Full/Review]
Lady Gaga has premiered the full version of her new single "Applause" one entire week earlier than scheduled. The DJ White Shadow co-produced dance floor-ready anthem was supposed to be radio premiered and released on iTunes on August 19th, but due to speculation (although, it was more than speculation actually..new snippets were being posted online left and right) some people had obtained the full track somehow and were threatening to leak it, Gaga had to take immediate action and what she did, was the only thing she could've done, ditch August 19, and premiere "Applause" NOW.
"Applause" is the first single from Lady Gaga's upcoming new album "ARTPOP" which will arrive in stores next November 11. The song is uptempo, and very experimental pop, lyrically and instrumentally talking. I like it, but I don't think it amazes as Gaga's previous first singles; "Just Dance", and "Born This Way". I do think her Little Monsters will make this an easy #1 (quickly on iTunes, with time on Billboard's Hot 100), and that clubs will eat "Applause" up. Radios will be a whole different story. Will they love to play it?. We'll see!
