Kimbra Premieres New Songs: 'Nobody But You' & 'Love in High Places' [Listen]
I really didn’t get or loved ‘90s Music’, but the two tracks New Zealand-native singer Kimbra just premiered on her official YouTube page are a whole different thing! Her new album ‘The Golden Echo’ isn’t dropping ‘til August 15 (Warner Bros. Records) but for some reason Kimbra is feeling RIGHT NOW in a ‘sharing’ mood, as she just, out of nowhere, uploaded two audio videos on YouTube of two new FULL tracks of ‘The Golden Echo’. These are: 'Nobody But You' & 'Love in High Places'.
I really love the two but if I HAD to choose my favourite that’d have to be 'Nobody But You'. 'Love in High Places' is a really cute mellow song about love and all the strange places where you can find 'it', but 'Nobody But You' steals the show for me in this ‘new Kimbra music’ day. Goodness gracious! That instrumental, the lyrics, the fragile vocals in the verses, and the ‘spine-tingling’ ‘BABY!’ shoutss in the chorus, all of these things are giving me LIFE. 'Nobody But You' is a little soul, a little pop and a little Macy Gray. August 15th people!! Mark your calendars. ‘The Golden Echo’ will be a must-buy.
