Kendrick Lamar Shows His Genius In "ELEMENT" Music Video: Wacth
“DAMN” has a new single and that’s “ELEMENT”.
Kendrick Lamar premiered the music video for the “DAMN” follow-up on VEVO last night to make the new single choice official. Directed by Jonas Lindstroem, the visual for “ELEMENT” is one with an evident social message where we see African-Americans fighting, drowning, making love, getting shot, incarcerated in prison, and Kendrick Lamar spitting his verses in a bloody t-shirt and pushing fellow African-Americans from the edge of a rooftop.
Couldn’t take my eyes from the screen for the 3 minutes and 33 seconds that this “ELEMENT” music video played.
I’m not sure if what I feel for this music video is “love” or if it’s better described as “admiration”: Admiration for Kendrick Lamar’s genius.
This and the “HUMBLE”, and "DNA" music videos are so MOMA-worthy.
