Kendrick Lamar Premieres 'King Kunta' Music Video
Kendrick Lamar let Times Square (Beats By Dre Billboard) in New York City have the premiere of his music video to 'King Kunta' earlier today and now follows up by giving the rest of the world a look with the online premiere via VEVO. Produced by Sounwave and Martin, the funky track is featured on Kendrick's newly released solo LP 'To Pimp A Butterfly'.
'King Kunta' is the second track to be serviced a visual from 'To Pimp A Butterfly'; with the first being 'i'. Directed by Director X, the 4-minute long clip finds Kendrick kicking it at the Compton Swap Meet, a place the Compton native has stated he visited frequently in his childhood. Lowriders and beautiful models included.
'To Pimp A Butterfly' has been holding strong at no. 1 on Billboard's Top 200. The acclaimed-album sold 123,000 copies over the last week, which brings up the total sold count to 447,000. As for 'King Kunta' itself, the track is currently sitting at the no. 61 position on Billboard's Hot 100.
