The new Kendrick Lamar season is approaching.

Last night (January 7) the Compton rapper appeared on NBC’s “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” to be interviewed by the hilarious host but to also hit the stage and perform some music for his fans in the studio and at home watching.

During the interview portion of his “Tonight Show” appearance, Kendrick discussed, among other things, about his 11 Grammy nominations, which is only one less in a year than Michael Jackson’s record-breaking 12 nominations back in 1984 with the album “Thriller”. How many will Kendrick’s “To Pimp A Butterfly” win? We’ll find out in mid-February when the 2015 Grammys air.

And as for his performance, he didn’t perform a song from “To Pimp A Butterfly”, although it would have been coherent with the subject touched in the interview, but BRAND NEW MUSIC. Although the official title of the song is still unknown, many people are calling what Kendrick Lamar debuted last night on TV “Blue Faces”…and I like it. Don’t really need to mention how fire Kendrick’s performance was, or how dope the new song “Blue Faces” is, it’s all a given. Just prepare your eyes and ears to receive Kendrick Lamar’s art upon clicking the play button below. You've been warned!

PS: When will he drop his new album? Most likely after the Grammys ceremony.
