Kelly Clarkson - "Piece by Piece" [Album Lyrics]
Kelly Clarkson’s seventh studio album “Piece by Piece” is released by RCA Records on March 3rd stateside. The record follows up to Kween Kelegend’s first Christmas album “Wrapped In Red” that was released in late 2013, meaning fans have only had to wait 2 years to get new music from the original “American Idol”.
Sound-wise, “Piece by Piece” sees a departure from Kelly’s signature pop-rock songs but it doesn’t mean a departure from quality music, not at all. She's focused her interest towards epic instrumentations a la Ryan Tedder now. You’ll see what I mean when you hear the record (which unfortunately leaked today - Feb. 26 - five days before release).
“Piece by Piece” comes in standard and deluxe editions, the former carrying 13 songs and the latter 16. There’s only one collaboration in the entire album and that’s “Run Run Run” (a cover of a Tokio Hotel song) featuring John Lehend.
The only official single “Piece by Piece” will have had before release is “Heartbeat Song”, which as of this post is failing to impress everywhere, on radio and the Hot 100. It's a cute song but without a doubt Kelly's weakest first single of her career. I don't get why RCA would release the weakest song on the album as lead single. Crazy. The non-success of the first single will undoubtedly hurt the first week sales of “Piece by Piece” but hopefully with the great rest of tracks it will recuperate not too late.
