Kanye West To Release New Album On June 18th?
Kanye West sent blogs and the Internet world abuzz Thursday morning when he took to twitter to drop a rare tweet. The tweet, which read "June 18th", stirred up a whole storm of speculation which had people guessing what the date could possibly mean. An album? New single? Kim's due date? This was just the start, as following Kanye's tweet, Rap Radar's Elliott Wilson tweeted out "Chris Atlas at Def Jam confirmed. Kanye West. New album. 6.18.13.". Many sites began reporting Kanye was dropping his sixth solo LP on June 18th but Elliott Wilson quickly backtracked moments later with "Clarity: Kanye West album release date has NOT been confirmed. Apologies to Chris Atlas.". Leaving us right back at square one with just the date of "June 18th".

DJ Semtex, who is close with Kanye and the G.O.O.D Music family, also joined in on the mayhem Thursday when he tweeted out what could be possibly be the title of 'Ye's sixth solo(if indeed the release date is June 18th). The only issue is he covered it up with asterisks leaving us to guess what those three words could possibly be. Check the tweet below.

It's a well known fact Kanye isn't exactly the most media friendly artist so you can imagine there isn't much information out there about the album. We did get a tad bit of info earlier this week when Hot 97's Peter Rosenberg revealed that 'Ye had held a listening session at the Def Jam record label for the album. According to Rosenberg, the Def Jam executives told him that the project is finished and that it's "dark" and "really good". Yeah I know, not exactly groundbreaking information but I'll take it over having nothing.
At this point all we really have is the date of June 18th. The rest is just speculation and rumors until we get a official confirmation from 'Ye or his camp. For all we know it could be Kim's due date or maybe even a new single, but If I had to take a guess, I'd place my bets on us getting a new Kanye West album. June 18th is also a Tuesday and albums are typically released on Tuesdays.
