New Queen of UK music Jess Glynne blessed us today (July 9th) with the music video premiere of her new single “Don’t Be So Hard On Yourself”. Who else thinks this empowering soul-pop song will become Jess’ fifth number one hit in the UK? For me, it’s so obvious. This girl is on a roll and ain’t nobody stopping her! And if you didn’t know Jess Glynne until now, and you are loving what you’re hearing, hang on, because next month her debut album “I Cry When I Laugh” will arrive in stores and no doubt it’ll be filled with more number one-worthy songs.

Directed by Declan Whitebloom, the music video for the fantastic, and inspiring “Don’t Be So Hard On Yourself” shows Jess and her fierce red hair marching on the streets of a black neighborhood in some US city (do you know which? I thought it was the UK at first but then I saw the US flag). Why is Jess in this particular place? Well, that’s because the main storyline of the music video takes place there. It’s about a young black kid who has self-esteem and family issues. Apparently Jess’ “Don’t Be So Hard On Yourself” song helps him find his courage.

What do you think of the video?
