Jay-Z Debuts 'Glory' Live at Carnegie Hall

Rapper Jay-Z took the stage at Carnegie Hall's Stern Auditorium last night (February 6th) for a concert benefiting United Way of New York City and the Shawn Carter Scholarship Foundation - One would think, if this is all for charity, why did Jay-Z book a venue whose capacity is for 2000 people at the most? Well, the answer is easy; high ticket price! This almost intimate gig (it's actually two-sold out concerts) had ticket prices ranging from $2,500 and $5,000 and VIP boxes starting at $15,000. So just do the math!

Anyway, focusing on Jay-Z's show, the hip-hop mogul was accompanied by a 36-piece orchestra, donned black, and white tuxedos and surprised with live duets with the likes of; Alicia Keys, Nas or Kanye West. Among the lengthy setlist, Jay-Z had time to perform for the first time ever his The Neptunes-produced dedication to his month-old baby, Blue Ivy, called 'Glory'. Bet Jay-Z felt amazing doing this track live, and surely all the attendees were moved by the rapper's lyrics. Sweet! Watch the 'Glory' performances above, and clips of other tracks Jay-Z performed on Monday in NYC below.
