It Happened! The Weeknd Performs “In The Night” With Lauryn Hill On “Jimmy Fallon” [VIDEO]
History was made last night, February 19, on NBC’s “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon”. Canadian crooner The Weeknd performed there a duet version of his latest single from “Beauty Behind The Madness”, “In The Night”, with the legendary Lauryn Hill.
This The Weeknd - Lauryn Hill live collaboration was supposed to first happen at the 2016 Grammys on Monday, but due to last-minute complications Ms. Hill couldn’t attend. But, since she is a woman of her word, she did make things happen for The Weeknd’s “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” appearance yesterday.
What can I say about this performance? It was epic.
Lauryn Hill may not have been at her 100% best – she had some pitchy moments – but there’s no doubt that she succeeded in making “In The Night” her own.
By the way, I would have preferred if Lauryn had removed her sunglasses for the performance because I would have liked her and The Weeknd to have made some eye contact; in an attempt to demonstrate their chemistry on stage.
