Imagine Dragons - "Roots" [Music Video Premiere!]
Here’s the music video for Imagine Dragons’ “Roots”.
The Dan Reynolds-led rock band released this Alex Da Kid-produced one-off single (not included on their latest studio album “Smoke + Mirrors”, released in stores earlier THIS year) last month and they said they did as a “gift” to their fans for their loyal following throughout these years – the question is: why didn’t they make this “gift” free for download?
The official music video for “Roots”, directed by Matt Eastin, premiered on VEVO last night (Sept. 29) and it shows band frontman Dan Reynold keeping it basic and natural. We see him backstage with the rest of Imagine Dragons before the start of a concert, waking up shirtless at his hotel room, lying on some green grass, walking barefoot on a beach shore, playing football with a few pals on the sand, or singing “Roots” underwater in a tub (so scary!). All the aforementioned is intertwined with old footage from Dan’s days as a kid. These are Dan's "roots".
