(Get The Pop Corn!) Iggy Azalea Drags The President Of Her Label On Twitter! Accuses Him Of Boycotting Her Career!
Iggy Azalea isn’t afraid to speak her mind publicly and I like that about her.
Remember the buzz single “Azillion” that she released on SoundCloud a couple of weeks ago? Well, it seems that the 800k-plus streams that it’s got thus far seem “not much” in the eyes of the executives of Iggy’s record label of Virgin EMI. She just announced on Twitter that “Azillion” won’t be getting a music video after all.
Bad news update:my record label Virgin/EMI seems to feel the response to my viral record "zillon" wasnt good enough & im not allowed a video

And this “innocent” tweet above ignited a rant from Iggy Azalea on her favorite social media outlet. What she said? She basically dragged the president of her label, Mr. Ted Cockle - accusing him of holding back her development as an artist, said that her label is treating as a puppet – for they want the first single from “Digital Distortion” to be apparently be a collaboration between Iggy and a pop star who sings the choruses (a la “Fancy”, evidently), making it very obvious that they have no faith in Iggy to make it big with solo rap songs, and she also said she wanted to switch record labels (after reading all of this, I would want to switch too!).
I felt like it was dope so, whatever. ted cockle doesnt wanna see me shine. what can i say.

@glamorouscunt they expect me to find a pop star to wack onto a radio friendly song with me rapping the verses. thats what THEY want.

Ouch. I wonder what Ted Cockle thought after reading all of this dragging on his timeline? (I’d pay to see his reaction!).
Poor Iggy Azalea, honestly. She’s in a label who has no real trust in her as an artist, and who is unwilling to let her go just because of the “coins” that she may bring to them in the case another “Fancy” comes. But it’s obvious that Iggy is already done with the “rapper + pop singer” formula. She now wants to shine on her own - but unfortunately she won’t be getting that (at least in official singles) while she’s in Virgin EMI. So what will happen in the end? I don't think Iggy will be able to find the way to get out of her contract in the near-future. So I guess Virgin EMI will be getting that collaboration as the lead single.
