Hear Justin Timberlake & Gwen Stefani’s “Trolls” Collaborations “Hair Up” & “What You Workin’ With?” Now!
There are two things interesting on the “Trolls” soundtrack, which got released in stores today (Sept. 23), and those are the two Justin Timberlake and Gwen Stefani collaborations; “Hair Up” and “What U Workin’ With?”.
Is this the first time the pop stars are working together? Technically no. Back in 2001 Gwen and Justin both lent their vocals to the charity song “What's Going On”. And earlier this year Gwen helped her buddy JT out by making a cameo on the “first listen” promo video for “Can’t Stop The Feeling”.
“Hair Up”: Not much of a “song” but a set of random “chanting” here and there. The little actual singing we hear are harmonies from Gwen and Justin. The Timbaland-esque urban production is everything, though.
“What You Workin’ With?”: Now this is a song. Also urban-esque and a banger. “This is the moment when everybody’s in the light / So what u working with?”, sings Gwen on the chorus. Both stars get their time to shine and they do it oh so well.
