Halsey took over Rockefeller Plaza in New York City this Friday morning to perform a live mini-concert for NBC’s “The Today Show”.
The American singer performed “Now or Never” and “Strangers”. Both songs are part of Halsey’s newly-released second studio album “Hopeless Fountain Kingdom” (June 2), which according to multiple sources will no doubt debut at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 when the chart officially updates later today.
This was Halsey’s first performance of the lesbian anthem “Strangers” with Fifth Harmony’s Lauren Jauregui by her side.
Despite having little time to rehearse, Halsey and Lauren did a good job on “Today". Their harmonies and their “stage routine” could’ve been a little better, more prepared, but overall the girls' performance of “Strangers” was exciting, mesmerizing and the chemistry between them evidently showed.
Afterthought: Their individual vocals were great by the way. Just to clear things out. I only referred to their harmonies. Halsey and Lauren’s vocals were great when they sang solo. Lauren in particular added so much emotion to her "Strangers" vocals in her verse. It was so hypnotic.
I swear to God I thought they were going to lock lips after finishing! lol.
It was a very intense performance.
