I’m talking about “Love Myself” by Hailee Steinfeld, that’s correct, Taylor Swift’s dear Oscar-nominated friend who appeared in her “Bad Blood” music video as “The Trinity”. The actress-turned-singer has inked a deal with Republic Records, her first album should be out around this Christmas, and the catchy “Love Myself” is her debut single.
Although the song may immediately strike you as something too bubblegum and perhaps not worthy of real attention, “Love Myself” has a “powerful” and also “provocative” message hidden; one related to women. The song touches on the subject of female masturbation…and although this may be perceived as “controversial” by regular people, Hailee addresses this with a different point of view, dealing with it with much normality…kind of if she was saying “hey, we all do it! not just boys”.

Truth be told I had never watched Hailee perform any music live, so I couldn’t mentally affirm if she was good or not, but seeing Republic had signed her I thought she at least had to be decent, but she’s not just decent, she’s GREAT!
