Gwen Stefani Goes All Retro With Snoop Dogg on “Bush” Track “Run Away”: Listen

Unfortunately Gwen Stefani is not having the comeback we expected her to have but at least she's still releasing new music. She’s just joined forces with Snoop Dogg to record a song called “Run Away” for his new album “Bush”, which will be released across the country on May 12. “Run Away” is produced by Gwen’s dear friend, ‘it’ producer and fellow “The Voice” coach Pharrell Williams.

“Run Away” is a super groovy song, it’s throwback/retro, it’s funky, and it’s just everything you need to hear if you’re feeling down.

Is it a proper collaboration? Well, Gwen has been credited in that way, but her role on “Run Away” is honestly more of the adlib-er. She does a lot of adlibs instead of really singing (she does sing some, don't get me wrong). You’ll notice what I say when you hear the song in full.

In any case, I’m feeling "Run Away" and it fits the retro sound Snoop is going for his 13th album (we all wanted something edgier, party-ready, urban and catchier from a Snoop x Gwen song but this is what we must deal with at this time and we could only hope that they team up again in a not so distant future - maybe for Gwen’s upcoming solo album that’s still recording).

Hit or Miss?
