Gwen Stefani Debuts New Song "Used To Love You", Inspired By Recent Break-Up, In NYC! [Update: Official Music Video Added!]
Gwen Stefani treated fans with a performance of a brand new song titled “Used To Love You” during her MasterCard Priceless Surprise Concert held at Manhattan Center’s Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City this past Saturday (Oct. 17th). “I just want to share a song that I wrote recently. This J.R. Rotem-produced song is really special to me”, Gwen told the crowd in the introduction of the “Used To Love You” performance.
Everything points out that this new song was inspired by the recent split of the former No Doubt leader and her husband for 13 years Gavin Rossdale – the couple filed for divorce last August. I think the “a song that I wrote recently” remark clearly proves “Used To Love You” was inspired by Gavin and this is why this song is so “special” to Gwen. Must’ve been really tough for her to perform this live last night!
“Used To Love You” is set to appear on Gwen Stefani’s much-anticipated yet-untitled third studio album that is rumored to be released in early 2016 via Interscope Records.
