Florence + The Machine Performs "Ship to Wreck" & "What Kind of Man" on "Later… with Jools Holland": Watch
About time if you ask me! Florence + The Machine, aka. Florence Welch, visited ‘Later… with Jools Holland’ on BBC Two (a UK show) last night (April 28) to make her first TV appearance (with a performance) of the “How Big How Blue How Beautiful” era (the album comes out on June 1).
Looking classy and a bit manly in a red outfit (with trousers), Florence performed two songs from her upcoming third studio album; the lead single “What Kind of Man” and the follow up “Ship to Wreck”, with the help of her band and back-up singers.
Vocally she nailed both songs, the band did a great job (love the inclusion of live horns) and back-up singers were on point too. The only piece of criticism? Well, I didn’t mind Florence sitting down throughout the entire “Ship to Wreck” performance but I did feel disappointed that she did the same thing for “What Kind of Man”. I mean, that chorus REQUIRES some ‘get on your feet, get crazy, serve some Lorde-esque body movements!’ action, don’t you think? I bet Lorde would slay a live performance of “What Kind of Man”. Can she cover this song at her next concert, please?
Update: It appears Florence's got a foot injury and that's why she had to sit on a chair last night. Heal up soon baby! "What Kind of Man" needs you in amazing shape!
