There will be no surprise release after all.
Ed Sheeran announced via social media this Thursday morning that his forthcoming third studio album "÷" (pronounced "divide") will hit stores on March 3rd (via Atlantic Records) and that it will be available for pre-order on iTunes starting this very MIDNIGHT - at the local time of your country.

So we have about a month and a half till the new Ed Sheeran LP arrives. Meaning that he will definitely release a handful of countdown singles before March 3rd comes. Will he unleash the first countdown track tomorrow? (If I were him, I'd do it. A new song would definitely bring more attention to the pre-order launch).
