Ed Sheeran Sued For Alleged Plagiarism Of Marvin Gaye’s “Let's Get It On” - Hear The Comparison!

Will this be Ed Sheeran’s “Blurred Lines” fiasco?

Robin Thicke’s already lost a plagiarism case and millions of dollars for sampling without permission the Marvin Gaye song “Got to Give It Up” in his monster hit “Blurred Lines”. Now the same is going to happen to Ed Sheeran?

The red-haired British singer has been sued for “ripping off the melody, harmony, and rhythm compositions” of the Marvin Gaye classic ”Let's Get It On" for 2014 his smash single “Thinking Out Loud”, says TMZ.

Here’s what they’re reporting:

“Ed Sheeran straight up jacked the heart of Marvin Gaye's famous panty-dropping song, "Let's Get It On" ... so claims Gaye's co-writer's heirs in a new lawsuit.
Sheeran stands accused of ripping off the melody, harmony, and rhythm compositions from "Let's Get It On" for his smash hit, "Thinking Out Loud."
Ed Townsend and Gaye co-wrote the song. Both are dead, and Townsend's heirs are now suing Sheeran, claiming he lifted key parts of the '73 classic and used them in 'Thinking.'
Sheeran's been accused of similar tactics in the past. He was sued back in June for allegedly ripping off chunks of another songwriter's work for his song, "Photograph."
We've reached out to Sheeran, so far no word back.”

True - both songs sound somewhat similar, but I personally don’t think this is at the same level of the Gaye vs Thicke case. My bet is that Ed will end up winning this.
