Ed Sheeran - "Photograph" [Official Music Video Premiere]
A little too much Taylor Swift inspiration maybe?
Ed Sheeran premiered the official music video for his next “X” single “Photograph” on YouTube last night (May 9) and although being a cute and touching thing, it showed that Ed lacks a bit in originality. Why? Because this “Photograph” visual looks too damn similar to Taylor Swift’s “The Best Days” MV – a song from her 2008 “Fearless” album. The “theme” is just the same; old/VHS footage from when the singer was a baby, when the singer took a liking at music when in the teen days, the loving relationship with the family or performing before a crowd.
Was Ed aware of the existence of the “The Best Days” video? I’m sure he was.
I mean, this theme fits his “Photograph” song but I just can’t get out the image of Taylor’s video when watching this and it ultimately makes me feel disappointed. Perhaps Ed could’ve done something different to stay “original”?
Oh, by the way, and what about “Photograph” being the next single from “X”? I like the song but I think there are better songs on the album that could definitely perform better on radio and charts than this song. Maybe this wasn’t the label decision but Ed’s this time as maybe he’s got a personal connection to this song.
