Ed Sheeran Covers Christina Aguilera's "Dirty" on BBC "Live Lounge": Must-Hear!

I’m still screaming! Ed Sheeran JUST performed a cover of Christina Aguilera’s 2002 hit “Dirty” on BBC Radio 1’s “Live Lounge”. This was part of Ed’s super special “Live Lounge” session that saw him perform 6 songs in acoustic mode in total today (Feb. 24). Ed took over the whole Tuesday morning of BBC Radio 1 actually where he was interviewed on shows, co-hosted, and it all came to an end with his live set on Fearne Cotton's "Live Lounge" around noon (UK time). Ed’s a performer on tomorrow’s BRIT Awards so he's just been hanging around in London this week and since he had not much to do this morning he said YES to BBC Radio 1’s offer to be their “morning star” today.

Anyway, out of the 6 songs Ed Sheeran acoustically performed on "Live Lounge" today one was a cover. What did he do? Xtina's "Dirrty" from the album "Stripped" and he also did the Redman rap! Ahhh! Check it out below:

That was beyond amazing. Is it the best cover of "Dirty" I have ever heard? YES! Ed made the song his own, added a little soul, he took chances with the melody but won, and he totally rocked my world when he also did Redman's rap bridge. He slayed the rap!

What a random cover choice (I would like to know how the hell he thought of it) but I’m so glad he did it because it’s one of the best musical things that’ve occurred this week.

Thoughts?
