Zayn Malik Signs With RCA To Create “Real Music” [Shade Thrown At One Direction?]
I guess this is goodbye to Syco and Columbia?
Former One Direction member Zayn Malik took to Twitter today, July 29, to announce his new record deal with RCA. Little Mix’s Perrie’s future husband posted online a photo showing him inking his signature on a few legal documents on a table with an RCA small billboard hanging on the back. I assume it was the label headquarters where the signing took place.
Zayn is all smiles in the pic above so I’m guessing the terms of the contract are very beneficial to him in all aspects; one of them being he must have convinced RCA to let him control the direction of his forthcoming debut solo album.
But what’s Zayn-related news without drama? In a tweet prior to the photo posting (like only a minute before), the 22-year-old anticipated the signing news but also took the time to throw some shade towards their former buddies of One Direction… he used the #realmusic hashtag to describe the ‘big opportunity’ given to him in terms of him becoming part of the RCA family. So basically he said that he’s now going to (finally) make ‘real music’ and that all of the music he did with One Direction wasn’t… right?
I guess I never explained why I left , it was for this moment to be given the opportunity to show you who i really am! #realmusic #RCA !!
