Latin diva Jennifer Lopez appeared last night (Feb. 29) on the show “Watch What Happens Live” to talk about the last season of “American Idol” and her series “Shades of Blue”. And as every guest on the Bravo hit show, Jennifer had to participate in the “Plead the Fifth” segment where host Andy Cohen asks 3 personal and/or controversial questions of which the guest can “plead the fifth” and not answer one.

The three questions Andy asked J.Lo were the following:

  1. Marry, Shag and Kill…Ryan Seacrest, Harry Connick Jr, Keith Urban?
  2. What do you think about Ben Affleck’s phoenix back tattoo?
  3. What’s your situation with Mariah Carey?

Jennifer pled the fifth in the first question as she felt super awkward, for Ryan Seacrest, Harry Connick Jr, and Keith Urban are like her brothers.

In the second question Jennifer slammed Ben’s tattoo really bad. She called it “awful”.

And in the third question, with respect to her alleged “feud” with fellow diva Mariah Carey, Andy Cohen reminded Jennifer that she had gone to all of the most-recent Las Vegas residence shows performed by female singers but Mariah’s, and he also reminded her about that infamous leaked video of her checking her phone while Mariah was performing at last year’s Billboard Music Awards - it was obvious Andy wanted to hear a “yeah, I hate her” from Jennifer. However, Jennifer answered very politically correct, trying to “normalize” the situation, and she was really succeeding in her effort, BUT… everything went to hell when she threw shade Mariah’s way. Like, seriously!? You were doing so good Jenny. What happened!? Like, the shade was real, y’all. Her “tone” gave it up.

While trying to excuse her checking the phone for a few seconds during Mariah’s Billboard Awards performance, Jennifer said: “IT WAS A VERY LONG PERFORMANCE!”.

Lord. That “tone” was shade-filled.

Let me correct you, Miss Jennifer Lopez. Mariah’s performance wasn’t long, it lasted the appropriate amount of a time for a medley performance of “Vision of Love” and “Infinity”. You should’ve respected legendary Mariah Carey and had fixed your eyes completely on her performance during the whole six minutes it lasted. Period.

Jennifer evidently wanted her comment to sound “innocent” but she got the opposite effect. It was pure shade, and she knows it, and you know it. She basically said that Mariah’s performance was too long and boring and that she preferred to check her phone instead.

The shade is real?
