Breaking: Katy Perry & Russell Brand To Divorce
So it's over! Katy Perry and Russell Brand's marriage is coming to an end! The British funnyman released a statement today (December 30th) that read; "Sadly, Katy and I are ending our marriage". "I’ll always adore her and I know we’ll remain friends.". Shortly after, celebrity news website TMZ.com obtained a copy of the divorce papers, filed this very morning as well at the Los Angeles Superior Court. Brand cites "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the separation.
The couple got wed just a little over a year ago, on October 23rd, 2010 in India. Rumours had emerged in the recent months that the two were going through big relationship problems, but things got pretty clear just a few days ago when Russell and Katy where caught by paparazzi NOT wearing their wedding rings (see above), plus celebrating the Christmas holidays far far away; Katy in Hawaii and Russell in London. Funny enough, it was Mr Brand who in a recent interview with Ellen DeGeneres slammed the divorce rumours by saying; "I'm really happily married ... I’m married to Katy. Perpetually, until death do us part was the pledge. I’m still alive". I guess they couldn't fix things up. A shame! They seemed really in love. I hope Katy at least got the British citizenship as she wanted, haha.
