Coldplay & Beyonce - "Hymn For The Weekend" [Music Video Premiere!]
Coldplay and Beyoncé premiered the music video for their collaboration “Hymn for the Weekend” moments ago (Jan. 29) on YouTube. The Ben Hor-directed visually-striking music video was filmed in India – back in October last year apparently. In the MV, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin takes us on a tour across the country, showing us from the dodgy areas, and the curious and life-filled people that live in them, to the beautiful landscapes located away from the big cities and a few the ancient temples. Oh, and also Chris will show us how a theater in India looks like.
Meanwhile, Beyoncé will appear in her scenes looking like an Indian goddess. Literally. She’s wearing the make-up, the ceremonial clothes, and all that is required to resemble an Indian deity. Apparently she’s not satisfied with being the Queen of America, she also wants to be the Queen of other countries too. And why not start with India, huh? Ok, jokes aside now, she looks OMG-stunning in this “Hymn for the Weekend” music video. THAT FACE… come on!
“Hymn for the Weekend” is taken from Coldplay’s latest album “A Head Full of Dreams”, and it is one of the confirmed songs that Coldplay will perform at their 15-minute concert at the 2016 Super Bowl Half Time Show in a few days. Beyoncé will be there to sing her part. Now, although I hoped the first Coldplay/Beyoncé would be something more epic, and slightly more radio-friendly, I have the convincement that both Chris and Beyoncé will slay “Hymn for the Weekend” at the Super Bowl. I know they have a special rendition of the song in store for us.
