Charli XCX's New "Boom Clap" (Tokyo Version) Video Is All About The Nipples
“SuperLove” video vibes? Hell yeah! Charli XCX pays homage to her iconic visual shot in Tokyo by filming the new version of the “Boom Clap” music video in the Japanese capital too. The British singer-songwriter will be releasing her debut album “Sucker” in the Asian country on December 16th and it seems she’s already wanting to kick off the “local” promotion! Warner Music Japan premiered earlier this week the new “Tokyo ver.” of the “Boom Clap” music video on YouTube and Charli XCX fans seem to be enjoying it a lot - with some considering it superior to the original version filmed in Amsterdam – one of the main locations of the movie “The Fault In Our Stars” from whose soundtrack “Boom Clap” is part of.

It seems Charli XCX has become a fan of wandering around cities without any purpose. Tokyo, Amsterdam and now Tokyo again. Having absolutely loved the “SuperLove” music video and its Tokyo theme, I find it to be a bit daring for Charli XCX to have given the new video for “Boom Clap” the same treatment – although I understand it’s for Japan “Sucker” promo reasons. “SuperLove” was just too iconic to repeat the same formula. Plus, I really believe the original Amsterdam version is the best of the two. That felt more sleek and polished. This seems a bit rushed and messy. And what’s up with Charli XCX wearing lingerie and forcing us to focus our attention on her nipples?
