So I think this further confirms the news. 'Pretty Hurts' is for real Beyoncé's next single from her self-titled fifth album. Earlier this week writer of the song Sia revealed that the ballad was originally intended for Katy Perry, who missed on it for not checking her email, that was later picked up by Rihanna who didn't pay the booking fee to secure the track, and it was then when 'Pretty Hurts' was shopped by Beyoncé. Ammo is the producer of the beat.
Now confirmed 'Pretty Hurts' in the new single, Beyoncé has given the authorisation for VEVO to upload the official video of the song to their platform. Watch below!
The MV for the makes-you-reflect song was directed by Bey's long-time collaborator Melina Matsoukas. The theme of the visual is that of the tough life of a pageant girl. Bey will have to be a bitch, damage her health and push herself to limits beyond reason to succeed in a world where it is thought 'prettiness' is the most fundamental thing.
