beccs’ Soulful Debut EP “Unfound Beauty” Is A Must-Listen Delight: Music Discovery

beccs is a Brooklyn-based indie/soul musician from Boston who released her debut EP “Unfound Beauty” this week. 5 are just the songs that make up this musical project but they are enough to fully understand beccs’ style, be amazed by her songwriting ability, and fall in love with her one-of-a-kind voice.
“Fiona Apple meets Amy Winehouse meets Laura Nyro” reads beccs’ official biography talking about her sound, and I agree with everything. You can definitely hear the influence from those artists on this EP, but you can also notice that beccs, despite all of that influence, is a true original. I don’t think I’ve ever heard an artist open this much about herself and her life on an EP/ album, and hearing this storytelling from beccs with those unique vulnerable vocals of hers is just an unmatchable combination.
Take “Therapy” for example. A song she wrote when she was in treatment for an eating disorder, composing it at the hospital's piano.

“Unfound Beauty” is a just a delight of an EP; soulful, emotive, and totally a life-changing experience. A special mention needs to be given to the productions featured in here too. They were exquisite and just listening pleasures to the ears that elevated beccs' music even higher.
