Alicia Keys - "We Are Here" [Music Video]
Has the new Alicia Keys era just started? Not quite so. The R&B singer premiered on Monday (September 8th) the music video for a new song titled “We Are Here”, a ballad that Alicia wrote recently and just had to 'release' at this moment. “The day I wrote this song, I was sitting in a circle of people of all ages and we were asked, “Why are you here.” Why am I here?? This really hit me on a deep level. I realized no one had ever asked me that question before”, posted AK on her Facebook, where she world premiered the full video for “We Are Here” instead of YouTube.
“Let's talk about Gaza / Let's talk about Israel”, sings Alicia in the first verse of her rather-reflective new song. She's confirmed a new album will soon be released but I have the feeling "We Are Here" isn't the first single just yet. However, it's a nice track and certainly fits the moment the world is living right now.
Alicia HAD to release "We Are Here" now because should the Palestine vs. Israel conflict ended tomorrow, this song would be pointless.
