Alessia Cara Covers "Bad Blood" on BBC Radio 1, Taylor Swift Approves! (Watch)
Canada’s 18-year-old Alessia Cara, who right now is taking radio by storm on both sides of the Atlantic, stopped by Huw Stephens’ BBC Radio 1 show yesterday (July 8) to perform on the “piano sessions” section.
The talented R&B singer sang a flawless, just-like-the-record acoustic version of her breakthrough smash hit “Here”, labeled as “the anthem for everyone who secretly hates parties”, as well as a cover. What song did she cover? “Surely a classic R&B song” you say? Wrong! Ms. Cara caught everyone by surprise when she announced she’d be singing Taylor Swift’s latest pop single “Bad Blood”. And she did the Kendrick Lamar remix version! Oh my god. She honestly slayed my body. What a voice! What an amazing rendition of the song!
I loved this cover so much, and Taylor did too. Don’t believe me? Just take a look below at the tweet she posted just hours after Alessia Cara’s “Bad Blood” performance video was released on YouTube. She gave Alessia her blessing!
You're AMAZING, @alessiacara. Love this, @BBCR1 ! http://t.co/YqKl7UJkZL
