A Great Big World's Singer Comes Out As Gay

Chad Vaccarino of A Great Big World, the pop duo who last year scored the huge hit 'Say Something' with Christina Aguilera, has come out as a gay man in a video recently posted on YouTube (well, it was actually uploaded on VEVO).

Titled ‘Day 23 - A Day In the Life: Food for Thought', a new episode from A Great Big World’s video diary, the black and white clip shows only Chad Vaccarino (no Ian Axel this time) revealing a very personal story (a story of his life!). He talks about getting diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) when he was in college, and finding the right treatment for him - after trying other methods - in Dr. Terry Wahls’ food-based regime. And he hopes that his story helps other battling with the same disease.

However, it’s not all about MS what Chad talks in the video. He also subtly told fans that he is a gay man (revealing the news for the first time in public). He said that around the time he was finishing college, “I was grappling with my own sexuality, dealing with coming out to my closest friends and family members…”. So there you go! Good for him. It was actually rather cool that he mentioned the "I'm gay" subject in such a normal way, not really making it a big deal, but just including it as a trivial anecdote in his MS speech.

From now on, I’ll have to listen to A Great Big World’s ‘Everyone Is Gay’ song with a different perspective.
