Yoko Ono Awards Lady Gaga In Iceland

Fresh from launching her "Fame" perfume in Harrods London, Lady Gaga caught a private jet to Reykjavik, Iceland to attend the 'Lennon Ono Grant For Peace Awards' ceremony where the 'Born This Way' star was one of this year's five recipients alongside Rachel Corrie, John Perkins, Christopher Hitchens and Pussy Riot (who for obvious 'imprisonment' reason could not attend) . The event took place on Tuesday, October 9, 2012...the day that would have been John Lennon's 72nd birthday.

When Yoko Ono announced Gaga earlier this year as awardee she said; "She is not only an artist, she is also an activist, using her art to bring better communication to the world. She is being acknowledged for her activism, and how her album 'Born This Way' has widely changed the mental map of the world. And how it has made us deal with the future world, which happens to be here already". I think she went a little too far in her views, but whatever. Lady Gaga announced that all the money she's getting from this award will go to Elton John's Aids charity. You can watch in the two videos below Gaga arriving at the Reykjavik airport, and her emotional full speech at the ceremony.
