World Premiere: Tinashe - “Ride Of Your Life” [Full Audio + Review]
Fellas, listen to Tinashe’s new song “Ride of Your Life” and it will get pretty clear about who would wear the pants in the relationship should someone date the beautiful R&B songstress (hint: her).
Tinashe premiered the new track off “Joyride” (coming this Spring) last night, February 2nd, on SoundCloud and YouTube. The bossy number was produced by Metro Boomin – if you didn’t already get it from the self-plugging intro.
UPDATE: “Ride of Your Life” ain’t just a new ‘buzz single’ from “Joyride”. It’s actually the next official single from the album! (get out of the way, “Player”!). This is what Tinashe recently added in the “description” area of the song on both SoundCloud and YouTube: “New Single... #JOYRIDE coming soon http://TinasheNow.com”.

“We gon’ hit the streets / Take you on the ride of your life / I’ll take you on the ride of your life / We do weed on the passenger side”, sings Tinashe in the chorus of her new song new single, over a pretty hot Metro Boomin-produced urban beat.
I personally don’t care if “Ride of Your Life” serves 2007/2008 vibes, I am loving it. I’m getting raw life from it. It’s a bop, Tinashe’s sultry vocals are to die for, I can’t wait to sing the lyrics to someone (relatability, check! – lol), and you can bet anything that urban radios will eat this right up. And there’s even the possibility even Top 40 radios give “Ride of Your Life” a go. The pre-chorus/chorus moment is pretty mainstream-sounding if you ask me.
Is this a risk Tinashe is taking by choosing “Ride of Your Life” as her next official single? I don’t think so (although there are some people calling the song "bland" - crazy, huh?), but I hope RCA gives Tinashe a decent budget (unlike the tiny one given to "Player") to promote the hell out of this on TV. Tinashe’s got the good music, she just needs promotion to make it a hit. Not really sure why RCA is boycotting one of their most-promising acts.
