The return of Miss Gomez is here. Ready for a new album?

The American pop singer released today (May 18) her brand new single “Bad Liar”, which was produced by Ian Kirkpatrick (Jason Derulo’s “Want to Want Me”, Justin Bieber’s “The Feeling”), and co-written by Justin Tranter and Julia Michaels.

The “TRYING” anthem is highly rumored to be the lead single from Selena’s forthcoming sixth studio album (although she’s yet to say the word “new album soon”, everybody knows that’s the plan).

Oh tryin', I'm tryin', I'm tryin' / I'm tryin', I'm tryin' / Not to think about you / I'm tryin', I'm tryin' / Not to give in to you”, sings Selena on the repetitive yet SUPER CATCHY chorus of her just-released new song.

Oh wow! Heavy bass? Clapping sound? A little bit of 70s realness but with modern pop DNA? Selena’s new single “Bad Liar” is the BOMB-dot-org-dot-uk.

She’s truly the QUEEN of staying original and fresh and not just doing the “same ol’ pop” other artists are still doing. And what about the vocals? GROWTH!

BUT… there’s always a but, I just didn’t think “Bad Liar” would be a song where Selena would be the culprit. I assumed from the title this would be am ex-boyfriend-bashing song where Selena would tell about the abuse episode she lived with him. But HELL NO, “Bad Liar” is actually about Selena being at fault for not being able to move on from her previous “flame” – something he has already done!

FYI: Selena has premiered an "exclusive video" for the song on Spotify (yeah, Spotify now hosts videos). This "music video" is said to be an exclusive for Spotify only, in the sense Apple Music and VEVO could be getting different versions! Look for it!
