Calvin Harris’s new single “My Way” dropped on Thursday midnight (Set. 15) online and it featured nobody! It’s just Calvin singing!
Why the lying, though? I was really hoping it’d feature someone cool. Like Tinashe, or Ellie again.
Anyhow, “My Way” is Calvin Harris’s first post “This Is What I Came For” single, it’s 3 minutes and 39 seconds in length, and it’s a cute EDM bop. It’s NOT totally slaying me, though - but I like!
You know the thing is that Calvin Harris’s ‘solo’ songs are always really good because he features some of his best productions on them, and it’s not so much about his vocals being outstanding, but in the case of “My Way”, the production is not really that crazy amazing. It’s infectious, true, but it’s not enough to compensate for the Calvin vocals and carry the whole song. Yeah it’s a cute bop, and it will probably be a nice hit for him - not at the same level of “This Is What I Came For”, though - but I’m a bit mad Calvin kind of just messed up with his flawless streak of solo singles he had established from the very beginning of his career with an alright one like "My Way".
