It's not summer yet but you'll definitely get a "Heatstroke" when you start listening to this song. Beware!
Scottish DJ Calvin Harris, aka. Taylor Swift's ex, just released a brand new single today. "Heatstroke" is the name of it and it features rapper Young Thug, Pharrell Williams and Ariana Grande. It's Calvin's first time collaborating with any of these artists. "Heatstroke" is said to be part of an upcoming album Mr. Harris plans to drop later in 2017 but he's yet to comment on it/confirm it. Other theory is that he just wants to release one-off singles for the time being.
"Heatstroke" is a feel-good song, retro-sounding, about love and loving so profoundly that person God has put in your path. Pharrell and Ariana only make appearances in the choruses. And that's a bit disappointing. We would have liked to hear more of them in "Heatstroke", especially of Ariana; and not so much Young Thug. At least their chorus is so glorious and so...timeless. It may sound vintage but it's slaying me in 2017. Ariana's part is so sing-alongy.
