Who Is Justin Bieber Singing To In ‘Love Yourself’? Watch Him Perform The Shade-Throwing Song On ‘Ellen’

justin bieber love yourself

Who is Justin Bieber singing about in his “Love Yourself” song? That is the question. That is the mystery all of the ‘Belibers’ (Justin Bieber fans) around the world are talking about from the very moment the song premiered on radio a few days ago.

On yesterday’s episode of “Ellen” (Nov. 16), the Canadian singer, who preferred in this occasion to hide his scruffy blonde hair underneath a cap, performed the ballad “Love Yourself”, co-written by Ed Sheeran and included on the album “Purpose”. It looks like the performances of “What Do You Mean” and “Sorry” weren’t the only ones JB taped for “The Ellen Show”, as it was revealed on Monday’s episode that a third performance was taped, but that was saved for broadcast yesterday.

Although “Love Yourself” may ‘sound’ as a pretty and beautiful song, and Justin’s soft singing makes it seem even more heart-warming than it is, we should not get fooled by this ‘cover’. For the message hidden in this ballad is all about ‘shade-throwing’, and ‘shade’ that is clearly being thrown at a former lover of Justin Bieber. Who could it be, though? Selena? Hailey? Yovanna? Kendall? Chantel? Place your bets!

Two fragments of the song might shed some light:

“My mama don't like you and she like's everyone”
“And all the clubs you get in using my name”

What ex girlfriend of Justin’s do you think seems more likely to have been hated by his mom and have used Justin’s name to get into clubs?

Have a name?
