Lil Wayne 'CRWN' Interview With Elliott Wilson

While out in Austin, Texas for the South By Southwest festival last week, Rap Radar general Elliott Wilson and Hip-Hop's finest Lil Wayne collided for another installment in the 'CRWN' interview series. 'CRWN' was started by Elliott Wilson just last year and has seen sit downs with artists such as Drake, R. Kelly, Rick Ross, ScHoolboy Q, Macklemore, and others. Weezy marks guest number nine.

Plenty was discussed in front of a live audience throughout the lengthy sit down at the Austin Convention Center. Lil Wayne spoke on 'Tha Carter V' LP, taking university classes, why he doesn't claim best rapper alive anymore, relationship with Drake, people who compare his new music to the old, his perspective on the game, Kanye West wearing a mask during his shows, Jay Z, and much more.

Watch part 1 of Lil Wayne's 'CRWN' interview with Elliott Wilson below. Part 2 is coming in the following days.

Update: Part 2 has been added. Catch Wayne talking Willie Nelson, success of Cash Money, Sports, Skateboarding, and more below.

On Tha Carter V:

I'm approaching it like it is my last project . I think that's why it's a lot different then everything else. I think that's why the grind is different, that's why I'm working harder. I'm approaching it as if you don't have tomorrow.

Why he doesn't claim best rapper alive anymore:

Because I have awesome artists. Simple and plain. I have awesome artists. I'm not trying to outshine them at all. At that time I didn't have that, so when I was saying it like that I don't care who on the mic. But now I have artists that I feel like I want you to be better than me.

Thoughts?
