Lady Gaga made her return to the public eye - this being her first appearance after undergoing hip surgery in February - at the New York City Pride Rally on Friday (June 28). This event marks the kick-off of the 2013 Pride festivities in the Big Apple.
After delivering a powerful and heartfelt speech, the pop star went on to perform acapella the US national anthem, aka. 'The Star-Spangled Banner'. Gaga changed a lyric of the song to; "Oh say, does our star-spangled flag of pride yet wave". The "Born This Way" star has publicly stated her joy - via tweets - over the equal rights triumphs for the LBGT community achieved this week when the Surpreme Court of the United States struck down 'Defense of Marriage Act' and dismissed California's Proposition 8 appeal.
